Welcome Miss Rose
10-06-2012
Miss Rose is the first community member to adopt her own plot at Capstone Community Garden. At over 70 years old she was hacking away at weeds with at pick axe to make room for some pepper plants.
Update from the garden
04-06-2012
There has been quite a bit happening with Capstone Community Garden. We received a grant from Scott's that was just enough to buy a small 6'x8' greenhouse kit and some other much needed items.
Rob from Our School at Blair Market donated a "nuc" of bees when they did their last split. We now have the "nuc" at the garden and look forward to the additional pollination they will give us.
Many thanks to the many individuals and groups who have volunteered their times and energy to assist with the garden. We have reached a point of having about 1,800 square feet in production.
I'm hoping to be able to resolve the photo posting issues that have been plaquing the website since it's inception. Currently I post photos to Facebook if you want to become Facebook friends.
Love Peace & Unity,
David

Freedom Fellowship Garden Day
October 04, 2011
October 1, 2011 One of the nice things about thje south is planting a Fall crop. We had our first "organized" garden day hosted by Capstone in cooperation with Freedom Fellowship Ministries. We had 11 people through out the morning, planted about 70 seeds of various vegetables in small pots, had some hot dogs done on the grill, and in gereal a great time of fellowship. The next event will be on October 29, 2011 from 9am until 1pm when we should be able to put the spruoted seeds in the ground.

First financial goal reached
13-08-2010
We have raised our first $3,000.00! Thanks to everyone who made this possible. We have also received the services of a licensed structural engineer as a donation and a licensed surveyor who has reduced his fees. This makes obtaining our building permit much closer.

The Gathering has offered to match donations up to $1,500.00. You can make your donation go twice as far. Go to our Make a donation page. You can mail it in or use Pay Pal.
